DIY Felt Candy Canes with Spellbinders

Time to create with felt! Yes! And with our wonderful Platinum SIX Machine by Spellbinders. The new collection of dies for felt crafting is here, and it’s absolutely stunning. Today, we’re making some candy canes that are simply divine—let’s get started!

¡Hora de crear con fieltro! ¡Si! y con nuestra maravillosa Platinum SIX Machine de Spellbinders. La nueva colección de troqueles para crear con fieltro ya está aquí y es una belleza. Hoy hacemos unos bastones de caramelo que son divinos ¡comencemos!

How to Assemble the Candy Cane / Cómo montar el Bastón de Caramelo:

Prepare the Felt Pieces:
Use the FELT CANDY CANE ETCHED DIES from the Felt Stitch & Create collection by Spellbinders.
Cut the candy cane shapes from your felt in the colors you prefer. Typically, alternating pink or red and white or cream creates a classic look.
Stitch the Candy Cane:
Align the felt pieces according to the die’s design.
Use embroidery thread in a matching or contrasting color and stitch along the edges to secure the pieces together. A blanket stitch works beautifully for this.
Add Filling (Optional):
Before closing the stitching, lightly stuff the candy cane with polyfill/cotton/felt pieces to give it a three-dimensional look.

Prepara las piezas de fieltro:
Utiliza los troqueles del set FELT CANDY CANE ETCHED DIES de la colección Felt Stitch & Create de Spellbinders.
Corta las formas de bastón de caramelo en fieltro con los colores que prefieras. Por lo general, alternar rosa o rojo con blanco o crema crea un diseño clásico.
Cose el bastón de caramelo:
Alinea las piezas de fieltro según el diseño del troquel.
Usa hilo de bordar en un color que combine o contraste, y cose los bordes para unir las piezas. Una puntada festón funciona maravillosamente para este propósito.
Agrega relleno (opcional):

Decorative details / Detalles decorativos:

Add Decorative Elements:
Tie a small ribbon or bow around the candy cane. Or add mini buttons (as I did)
Optionally, attach a tiny charm, bell, or tag to give it a personalized touch.
Use and Enjoy:
Use your felt candy canes as tree ornaments, gift toppers, or festive table decor.

Agrega elementos decorativos:
Ata un pequeño lazo o moño alrededor del bastón de caramelo, o añade mini botones (como hice yo).
Opcionalmente, coloca un pequeño dije, cascabel o etiqueta para darle un toque personalizado.
Usa y disfruta:
Utiliza tus bastones de caramelo de fieltro como adornos para el árbol, decoraciones para regalos o elementos festivos para la mesa.

Tip: Pair these with other felt creations to create a cohesive holiday theme!

Time to create together! For this Blog Hop I prepared a special and sweet project. I felt in love with the Foldable Shaker Tag Set. So, I decided to use it to create a variety of tags. You can use them for Christmas, a birthday, for gifts, etc. Just change the phrase or some details.

¡Hora de crear juntos! Para este Blog Hop preparé un proyecto dulce y especial. Me enamoré del Foldable Shaker Tag Set Entonces, decidí usarlo para crear una gran variedad de tags. Pueden usarlos para Navidad, cumpleaños, regalos, etc. Simplemente cambien la frase o algunos detalles.

For my project I’ll be using: Foldable Shaker Tags Die Set and Shaker Heart Die Set. You can see them here… Also I added the rest of the product of this release so you can see them and choose all your favorite ones 😉

I also used other die sets from Pinkfresh Studio. They are: Shaker Stars Die Set, Artistic Bows Die Set, Mini Tags with Fillable Words Die Set. I added some hot foil details too… I love them so much! And I tried the new Solid Hot Foil Plate. I can tell you that IS AMAZING! I also used the Celebrate Hot Foil Plate and the coordinate Celebrate Die, the Thrill of Hope Wreath Hot Foil Plate and the coordinate Thrill of Hope Wreath Die Set and the Small Butterflies Hot Foil Plate and the coordinate Small Burrerflies Die.

También usé otros sets de troqueles de Pinkfresh Studio. Ellos son: Shaker Stars Die Set, Artistic Bows Die Set, Mini Tags with Fillable Words Die Set. Añadí algunos detalles de hot foil también … ¡Los amo tanto! Y probé el nuevo Solid Hot Foil Plate. ¡Puedo decirte que ES INCREÍBLE! También usé el Celebrate Hot Foil Plate y el troquel coordinado Celebrate Die, el Thrill of Hope Wreath Hot Foil Plate y el troquel coordinado Thrill of Hope Wreath Die Set el Small Butterflies Hot Foil Plate y el troquel coordinado Small Burrerflies Die.

For my first tag I combined the Foldable Shaker Tags Die Set, Shaker Heart Die Set, Mini Tags with Fillable Words Die Set and the Solid Hot Foil Plate. You will see that the Foldable Shaker Tags Die Set has all the pieces to decorate your tag. I used the negative of the Heart and the Solid Hot Foil Plate to add a foiled detail. I adore the aged and vintage style so I wanted to have it on my piece of paper. I added the hot foil in that way ;). As a final detail I added vellum paper and a small tag.

Para mi primer tag combiné el Foldable Shaker Tags Die Set, Shaker Heart Die Set, Mini Tags with Fillable Words Die Set y Solid Hot Foil Plate. Verán que el strong>Foldable Shaker Tags Die Set tiene todas las piezas para decorar las tags. Usé el negativo del corazón y el Solid Hot Foil Plate para aladir un detalle de foil. Adoro el estilo vintage y envejecido, entonces lo quería en mi pieza de papel. Añadí el hot foil en ese sentido 😉 Y como detalle final añadí papel vellum y una pequeña tag.

For the second tag I combined the Foldable Shaker Tags Die Set, Artistic Bows Die Set, the Thrill of Hope Wreath Hot Foil Plate and the coordinate Thrill of Hope Wreath Die Set. In this case I prepared a shaker tag (using foam 3D). One of the Artistic Bows was great as a detail. I cut it in white cardstock and vellum. Don’t you love the hot foil detail with the Thrill of Hope Wreath Set? It’s so beautiful! 🙂

Para la segunda tag combiné el Foldable Shaker Tags Die Set, Artistic Bows Die Set, el Thrill of Hope Wreath Hot Foil Plate y el troquel coordinado Thrill of Hope Wreath Die Set. En este caso preparé una tag con shaker (usando foam 3D). Uno de los lazos del Artistic Bows Set era el detalle perfecto. Lo corté en cardstock blanco y vellum. ¿No aman el detalle de hot foil con el Thrill of Hope Wreath Set? ¡Es precioso! 🙂

This is my third tag 🙂 I combined the Foldable Shaker Tags Die Set, the Thrill of Hope Wreath Hot Foil Plate and the coordinate Thrill of Hope Wreath Die Set and the Small Butterflies Hot Foil Plate and the coordinate Small Burrerflies Die. I made a new shaker tag using a different center die of the set and I added a wonderful butterflie from the lovely Small Butterflies Set. This time I did hot foil on vellum, isn’t it a beauty? Also I added some Gold Metallic Pearls.

Esta es mi tercera tag 🙂 Combiné el Foldable Shaker Tags Die Set, el Thrill of Hope Wreath Hot Foil PlateThrill of Hope Wreath Die Set y el Small Butterflies Hot Foil Plate con el troquel coordinado Small Burrerflies Die. Hice una tag shaker usando un troquel central del set distinto y le añadí una hermosa mariposa del adorable set Small Butterflie. Esta vez añadí el hot foil sobre vellum ¿no es una belleza? También añadí unas Gold Metallic Pearls.

For my fourth tag I combined the Foldable Shaker Tags Die Set, Shaker Stars Die Set and the Celebrate Hot Foil Plate and the coordinate Celebrate Die. I did the same as in my first tag. I used the negative of the Star and the Solid Hot Foil Plate to add a foiled detail. And cut extra «Celebrate» pieces with the die to add extra layers to it. I glued the star with 3D foam 😉

Para mi cuarta tag combiné el Foldable Shaker Tags Die Set, Shaker Stars Die Set y el Celebrate Hot Foil Plate con el troquel coordinado Celebrate Die. Hice lo mismo que en mi primera tag. Usé el negativo de la estrella y el Solid Hot Foil Plate para añadir un detalle de foil. Y corté piezas extra con el troquel «Celebrate» para añadirle capas extra. Pegué la estrella con foam 3D 😉

My last tag is here! 🙂 And I used an extra material: washi tape! Also I combined: the Foldable Shaker Tags Die Set, Shaker Heart Die Set, Artistic Bows Die Set and the Solid Hot Foil Plate. In the interior of the shaker I added some flowers from the Joyful Bouquet Washi Tape. Also, I prepared foiled bow using the Solid Hot Foil Plate. Isn’t it a beautiful and a very delicate detail?

Mi última tag está aquí 😉 Y usé un material extra: ¡cinta washi! También combiné: el Foldable Shaker Tags Die Set, Shaker Heart Die Set, Artistic Bows Die Set y el Solid Hot Foil Plate. Ene le interior del shaker añadí unas flores de la Washi Tape Joyful Bouquet. También preparé un lazo con papel con hot foil usando la Solid Hot Foil Plate. ¿No es un detalle precioso y muy delicado?

Let’s the magic begins! For this Blog Hop I prepared a special project. Christmas is magic and color for me and the palette in this collection is amazing. So, I decided to use the palette and the design of one of the papers as inspiration for my project. We are going to create a coloful Christmas Wreath.

¡Qué comience la magia! Para este Blog Hop preparé un proyecto especial. La Navidad es magia y color para mí y la paleta de esta colección es increíble. Entonces, decidí usar usar la paleta y el diseño de unos de los papeles como inspiración para mi proyecto. Vamos a hacer una colorida Corona de Navidad.

I also used one die set from Pinkfresh Studio: Curvy Leaves Die Set. I combined it with some other leaves designs (you can cut them by hand or using your electronic cutting machine).

También usé un set de troqueles de Pinkfresh Studio: Curvy Leaves Die Set. Lo combiné con algunos otros diseños de hojas (puedes cortarlas a mano o usando tu cortadora electrónica/ plotter de corte).

I decided to make a base full of leaves by combining plain papers with design papers. I was gluing all the leaves in layers, interleaving colors and leaving them in layers. You can see it from near or far and you will notice all the layers of leaves that it has.

Decidí hacer una base repleta de hojas combinando papeles lisos con papeles de diseño. Fui pegando todas las hojas en capas, intercalando colores y dejándolas en capas. Puedes verla de cerca o de lejos y notarás todas las capas de hojas que tiene.

Another detail you can add to your design is glitter or fake snow. Besides, I used some pieces of the Ephemera Pack and Title Ephemera Pack and cut some paper stars to complete my Christmas Wreath.

Otro detalle que puedes agregar a tu diseño es purpurina o nieve artificial. Además, utilicé algunas piezas del Ephemera Pack y del Title Ephemera Pack y corté algunas estrellas de papel para completar mi corona navideña.

You can enjoy cutting a lot of leaves and making this Christmas wreath on a nice afternoon, isn’t it a beauty?

Podrán disfrutar de cortar muchas hojas y hacer esta corona de navidad en una linda tarde ¿no es una belleza?
