Same Design, Two Techniques: Sparkle Cards | Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Release

Hello everyone! I’m back today with my second project featuring the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember release, and this time I’m sharing not one, but two cards created with the same color palette and overall design — using two different techniques. These Same Design Two Techniques Sparkle Cards with Simon Says Stamp are a fun way to see how a small change in the creative process can give the same idea a completely different finish. For one card, I combined die-cut pieces with texture paste to create the soft blue background details, while for the second version I used a stencil with texture paste to achieve a similar look in another way. The mix of peach, lavender, soft blue, and white keeps both designs bright and delicate, while the dimensional details add that extra sparkle that perfectly matches the sentiment: “You Add Sparkle to My Life.”

Card One: Stencil + Glimmer Paste

For card base, I used Simon Says Stamp WHITE A2 SIDE FOLD
The first step will be to prepare the panel using the Simon Says Set of 4 Stencils Stained Glass Snowflake 1 1 68stc.
The Distress Oxide inks I used are: Saltwater Taffy, Dried Marigold, Tumbled Glass, and Shaded Lilac.
Apply each color to the areas of the design where you want them to appear.
For the background area of the design, where I used Tumbled Glass, I applied Tonic Moonstone Nuvo Glimmer Paste 1544n with a spatula. The idea was to give it a beautiful, special sparkle that would coordinate perfectly with the sentiment chosen for the card.
Let it dry completely, and then we can trim the panel to size. Adhere it to the card base using 3D foam.
Stamp the sentiment “You Add Sparkle to My Life” from the Simon Says Clear Stamps Craft Life 2360ssc set and adhere it to the design panel using 3D foam.
As a final detail, add a few sequins to selected areas of the central design.

Card Two: Die Cuts + Glimmer Paste

For card base, I used Simon Says Stamp WHITE A2 SIDE FOLD
The first step will be to prepare the panel using the Simon Says Stamp Stained Glass Snowflake Wafer Dies 1762sdc set.
I used cardstock in the following colors: White, Coral, Breeze, Lavender, plus another shade of orange that I already had in my stash.
Die-cut the design from each of the cardstock colors.
Adhere all the colored layers of the design frame together, keeping white as the top/front layer. When you look at the finished piece from the side, you’ll be able to see all four colors in the layered edge — as long as you are using solid-core cardstock.
For the background pieces, the light blue Breeze sections, I applied Tonic Moonstone Nuvo Glimmer Paste 1544n with a spatula and allowed them to dry completely.
Cut a white panel to use as the backing for the design frame and adhere it behind the layered piece.
Now you can inlay all the colored pieces back into the design, creating a beautiful recessed effect.
Once the panel is complete, adhere it to the card base using 3D foam.
Stamp the sentiment “You Add Sparkle to My Life” from the Simon Says Clear Stamps Craft Life 2360ssc set and adhere it to the card panel using 3D foam.
As a final detail, add a few sequins to selected areas of the central design.

And with that, both cards are complete! Even though they share the same design, sentiment, and color palette, the two techniques give each version its own look and texture. I really love seeing how the stencil and die-cut approaches create different results while still feeling like part of the same little card set.

Rainbow Butterfly Birthday Card with Distress Oxide Inks | Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Release

Color, butterflies, and a little birthday magic — this card brings them all together! For today’s project, I’m featuring products from the STAMPtember release by Simon Says Stamp and creating a soft rainbow effect with Distress Oxide inks. The delicate butterfly design gave me the perfect base to play with pink, orange, mint, aqua, and lavender tones, while the white cardstock keeps everything light, clean, and full of contrast. I finished the design with a few subtle dimensional details and a simple “Happy Birthday!” sentiment, letting the colorful butterflies take center stage.

Card Base:

For card base, I used Simon Says Stamp WHITE A2 SIDE FOLD
The first thing we need to do is prepare the base panels. For this, I’ll use WHITE cardstock. Using my Platinum Six Die Cutting Machine + PRECISION LAYERING A2 A Etched Dies S5-487, I’ll prepare two panels. One of them will be blended with Distress Oxide inks, while the other will be die-cut using the Simon Says Stamp Flying Butterfly Collage Wafer Dies s1223.
The panel die-cut with the butterfly die will feature only that detail. I’ll die-cut the butterfly bodies and antennae from white glitter cardstock from the Antique White Assorted Treasured Cardstock scsp-016 set.
For the remaining panel, I’ll create a rainbow-style background using the following Distress Oxide inks: Kitsch Flamingo, Dried Marigold, Scattered Straw, Salvaged Patina, and Shaded Lilac. We need to make sure the ink blending is smooth and properly blended. This means that when transitioning from one color to the next, the two shades should merge seamlessly and create a new tone within our rainbow.
With these pieces ready, we have everything we need for the base of the card.

Decorative details:

Before beginning with the decorative details, adhere the panel with the rainbow background centered on the card base. This panel should be adhered flat.
Next, adhere the panel with the die-cut butterflies using 3D foam. At this point, we can add the white glitter cardstock pieces for the butterfly bodies and antennae.
Now, let’s prepare the sentiment for the card. I used one of the sentiments from the Simon Says Stamp Craft Life Wafer Dies 1558sdc set, together with black ink and white cardstock. I wanted this card to have an elegant yet clean and simple style, allowing both the rainbow background and the butterfly design to really stand out.
Adhere the stamped sentiment using 3D foam.
As a final detail, I added a few sequins to selected areas of the butterfly wings.

I hope this card inspires you to experiment with soft rainbow blending, delicate die-cut details, and simple layers that still make a big impact. I really love how the colorful background shines through the butterfly design while the white cardstock, glitter accents, and tiny sequins keep the finished card feeling elegant, fresh, and clean. It’s one of those projects that proves you don’t need too many elements when each detail has its place. Thinking of You Card with Layered Butterflies | Simon Says Stamp Always There Release

Hi friends! Today I’m sharing a sweet and colorful “Thinking of You” card featuring products from the new Always There release by Simon Says Stamp. This design is full of soft texture, layered details, and a happy mix of butterflies, flowers, and fresh colors that make the card feel delicate but still full of life. I love how all the little elements come together to create a cheerful handmade card that is perfect for sending a thoughtful message to someone special. Let’s take a closer look at this project and all the pretty details!

Card Base:

For card base, I used Simon Says Stamp WHITE A2 SIDE FOLD
First, I prepared a panel using the 1387sd Rounded Rectangles die set. I used Breeze cardstock from Spellbinders.
Once the panel was die-cut, I embossed it with the SF572 Dotty Circles embossing folder.
To enhance the design even more, I gently applied Unicorn White ink from Hero Arts over the raised details. It looks so pretty, and it’s one of those little details I truly love.
Once it was dry, I adhered the panel to the card base mentioned earlier using foam strips.

Decorative details:

Once the background is finished, we can move on to the decorative details of the card. I’ll break them down for you step by step below:

I die-cut the butterflies from the S1127 Dewpierce Butterfly set using Tutu and Blush cardstock, along with the white foil-style cardstock from the Antique White Assorted Treasured pack by Spellbinders.
Then, I added Distress Oxide ink in Kitsch Flamingo and Picked Raspberry around the edges to give them more depth and a soft pop of color.
Next, I die-cut two large flowers and one small flower using Beeswax and Tuscan cardstock from Spellbinders, along with the BE BOLD BLOOMS Etched Dies. For the flower centers, I used the same paper I chose for the butterfly bodies.
I added Distress Oxide ink in Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade to the flowers to create a little more contrast and dimension.
I also die-cut a few leaves from green cardstock and applied Distress Oxide ink in Pine Needles to add extra depth.
The sentiment I used is “Thinking of You” from the Blooms of Encouragement 2226ssc stamp set. I stamped it with VersaFine Onyx Black ink.
Once all the pieces were ready, I assembled the die-cut elements and then arranged them on the card base. I adhered the flowers flat and added the butterflies and sentiment with 3D foam for extra dimension.
As a final touch, I added a little bit of sparkle using sequins. You can find two sequin options listed in the supply details.

I hope this card inspires you to play with texture, layers, and those little details that can make a handmade card feel extra special. I truly love how the embossed background, soft inked edges, colorful flowers, and layered butterflies came together in this “Thinking of You” card. Modern Love You Card with Geometric Hearts

Hello, my crafty friends! Today I’m sharing a super modern card I can’t stop looking at: my “Modern Love You Card with Geometric Hearts” featuring the gorgeous Heart to Heart release by Simon Says Stamp. I went for a clean-but-bold vibe with a graphic heart pattern in a pink-to-coral ombré, little pops of gold sparkle, and that layered focal heart right in the center (because drama is allowed when it’s this cute). Crisp layers, strong contrast, and just the right amount of shine—let’s take a closer look at how this one came together so you can recreate it, too!

Card Base:

For card base, I used Simon Says Stamp WHITE A2 SIDE FOLD
First, I created the background design using the Simon Says Stamp Set of 3 Stencils Love City and Pinkfresh inks in Coral Reef, Passion Fruit, and Berrylicious. You can use an A2 card panel or your favorite cardstock for this kind of technique.
Once the panel was finished, I die cut it using one of the dies from the PRECISION LAYERING A2 A Etched Dies (S5-487) set.
Then I adhered this panel to the card base using 3D foam strips. Tip: it’s always a good idea to add foam across the entire area you’re attaching so everything stays nice and supported.

Decorative details:

Once the background is finished, we can move on to the decorative details of the card. I’ll break them down for you step by step below:

I die cut a few small hearts from die set Toaster Pastry Wafer Dies using glitter paper from Spellbinders (set Rose Gold Assortment Treasured Cardstock Pack). These will become the little sparkly details on top of the stenciled hearts in the background.
Next, I die cut a larger heart from that same glitter paper using Simon Says Stamp Basic Hearts Wafer Dies 1541sd.
For the sentiment, I grabbed stamp set Plaque Slides Love and Friendship and stamped “Love You” with Archival Ink. Then I die cut it using a smaller heart from Simon Says Stamp Basic Hearts Wafer Dies 1541sd.
I popped the larger hearts up with 3D foam, centered on the card.
After that, I adhered all the tiny glitter hearts in place.
As a final touch, I used the leftover stenciled paper to die cut a small red heart and added it to the center piece—such a simple detail, but it really finishes the card perfectly.

And just like that, this card is finished! I love how the bold geometric heart background pairs with those sparkly layered hearts—clean, modern, and with just the right pop of shine. It’s one of those designs that feels super special but is still easy to mass-produce if you need a few “Love You” cards ready to go.
